2008: Saw action in 35 games with 27 starting assignments...hit .247 in 81 at-bats...Went 2-for-2 with a triple and one RBI vs. Arkansas State (3/1)...recorded a second multi-hit game two games later with a 2-for-4 performance vs. LSU (3/4)...RBI double vs. Ohio State (4/11)...posted two RBIs vs. Michigan (4/19) in a 2-for-4 performance that included a triple...recorded an RBI triple and scored a run vs. Iowa (4/26).
Prior to MSU: Played two seasons as an infielder at Indian Hills under coach Cam Walker...captured all-conference honors...hit .351 with five home runs and 29 RBI...also stole 27 bases led team to a 94-26 record during his two seasons.
High School: Named first-team all-district and all-conference...captured second-team all-state honors...batted .450 as a senior in 2005...led team to a 38-3 record as a senior...earned two varsity letters under coach Ryan Cooley.
Personal: Born April 23, 1987...son of Steve and Roxanne Shindler...has one brother, Mike...communication major...list his father as his greatest baseball influence...played for the Junction City Generals in the summer of 2007....hit .294 with one home run and 24 RBIs while playing for the Battle Creek Bombers in the summer of 2008 and was selected to play in the Northwoods League All-Star Game.
