Scouting Tripp: Has a variety of skills on the field; fairly complete player... excelled at the plate in the fall season... will hit out of the lead-off spot, or in the middle of the lineup... will be stationed defensively in right or center field.

2005: One of three Spartans to start in all 53 games... tied Ryan Basham for first on the team in home runs (8), placing him fifth in the conference... led MSU in stolen bases (10) and runs scored (40)... ranked third on the team in RBI with 31... went 3-for-5 at the plate against five different opponents... matched a career-high with two stolen bases against Brown (3/6)... had a season-high three RBI vs. Toledo (3/10)... hit a career-high two doubles against sixth-ranked Florida (3/13)... produced four hits in five at bats, scoring four runs vs. Indiana Tech (4/26)... had 17 multi-hit games and 13 multi-RBI games.

2004: Played 36 games as a freshman, starting seven in center field... was 1-for-4 with a double against Central Michigan (4/21)... produced an RBI single in his only at bat and scored a run against Iowa (4/4)... went 1-for-3 with two RBI against Siena Heights (3/30)... tallied 38 putouts on the season, including a career-high five putouts against Kansas State (3/20) and Florida State (3/12).

High School: Earned all-league and All-Santa Clarita Valley honors as a senior... named a Los Angeles Daily News All-Star and a Bernie Milligan All-Star... posted a .407 batting average with five home runs, 25 RBI and a .744 slugging percentage as a senior... served as baseball team captain in his senior season... as a junior, earned All-SCV honors... batted .431 with a .706 slugging percentage in the Valley Invitational League... named team MVP as a freshman with a .525 batting average, five home runs, 30 RBI and a .938 slugging percentage... also earned a varsity letter in football as a sophomore... earned SAMMY Award for outstanding athletic and academic achievements... earned National Interscholastic Award in 2001-02 and 2002-03... also a CIF Scholastic Award recipient.

Personal: Born Oct. 25, 1984, to Mark and Sheila Tripp... a business major... enjoys riding motorcross bikes, snowboarding and fishing... played baseball for Casey Burrill, brother of former Spartan standout Brady.
