EAST LANSING, Mich. - Sophomore third baseman Mike Pisani was selected to play with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod League during the 1998 season.

Pisani, a native of Rochester, hit .278 as a true freshman for the Spartans in 1997, playing in 49 of the MSUs 54 games. He opened this season in the No. 3 spot in the lineup, as he went two-for-five in the season opener against Lamar on Feb. 20.

Pisani, the lone Big Ten representative on the Bourne roster, will look to continue Spartan success with the Braves. Current MSU pitcher Mark Mulder was named the top prospect in the league after going 5-2 with a 1.47 ERA with them last summer.

The Cape Cod League features a 44-game schedule that runs from early-June to mid-August, featuring some of the top collegiate players in the country.
