Sunday’s Game at South Carolina Cancelled

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Michigan State baseball’s Sunday afternoon game at No. 10 South Carolina has been cancelled due to inclement weather, cold temperatures and field conditions. After warm temperatures all week, a rain and snow storm rolled into the area Sunday morning.

The Spartans will now head home after finishing 3-3 on their Spring Break trip with six games over the 10-day trip.

MSU battled 10th-ranked USC tough in the two games they played over the weekend, falling 3-2 Friday night and 5-2 Saturday evening. Michigan State now has a 9-4 overall mark.

The Spartans hit the road again next weekend, heading to Richmond, Va. to participate in the Richmond Spider Invitational Friday-Sunday, March 17-19, taking on Campbell on Friday, March 17 at 10 a.m., then host Richmond on Saturday, March 18 at 2 p.m. before wrapping up with Cornell on Sunday, March 19 at 10 a.m.

Michigan State’s home opener is Wednesday, March 22 at McLane Stadium at Kobs Field against in-state foe Central Michigan at 3:05 p.m.
