MSU Baseball Cancels Final Game Of Valpo Series
Spartans have weekend series shortened to two games.
EAST LANSING, Mich. --Michigan State baseball’s third and final game of a weekend series with Valparaiso has been cancelled due to inclement weather in the East Lansing area for Saturday and Sunday.
The Spartans and Crusaders had adjusted the original three-day series to playing a doubleheader Friday and were scheduled for a single game Saturday, but the series has been shortened to just Friday’s doubleheader. MSU and Valpo split that twinbill, with the Spartans winning game one, 5-4 in 12 innings, before the Crusaders captured game two, 7-6.
After wrapping up its lengthy homestand, Michigan State hits the road for the first time since March 25, traveling to Kalamazoo to tangle with Western Michigan on Wednesday, April 18 in a 3 p.m. battle with the Broncos. The Spartans remain on the road, resuming B1G action at Northwestern on April 20-22. MSU then faces off with Eastern Michigan at Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, on Tuesday, April 24 at 6:35 p.m.
Any schedule updates will be announced on www.MSUSpartans.com and on twitter @statebaseball.
