DETROIT - The third annual Clash at Comerica was suspended in the fifth inning due to inclement weather in the area. The game will be resumed on May 14th in Mt. Pleasant. Michigan State and Central Michigan will then play the third game of the three-game season series on the same date.

"We're a little disappointed we weren't able to finish," head coach Jake Boss said. "Our guys really had a good time during batting practice and enjoyed the setting. Once the game started, it's baseball and back to business as usual."

The Spartans will take a 1-0 lead into the game on May 14. Central will have runners on first and second with no outs in the bottom of the fifth.

"Rather than play two nine-inning games, we will basically play a game and a half," Boss said. "So we will save a bit of pitching and keep ourselves in good position for the last game of the series."

The only run off the game came off a sacrifice fly by Cam Gibson in the second inning, scoring Blaise Salter. Salter singled to left field to lead off the inning.

Michigan State will travel to Minnesota for a three-game Big Ten series this weekend.
