Joel Fisher Named Big Ten Player of the Week
Fisher hit .455 (5-for-11) with a pair of home runs in the series win over Illinois.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - For the second straight week a Spartan has been recognized as the Big Ten Player of the Week. Junior catcher Joel Fisher earned his first weekly honor the conference office announced on Tuesday, May 7.
Fisher hit the go-ahead three-run home run on Sunday to give the Spartans a 4-3 win over Illinois and clinch the series
For the weekend, Fisher hit .455 (5-for-11) with a pair of home runs, one double and seven RBIs. He also had a 1.091 slugging percentage and a .538 on-base percentage.
On Friday against the Illini, he went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and four RBIs.
It marks the sixth time a Spartans has been recognized by the conference this season.
Michigan State (26-14) takes on Western Michigan today and hosts Eastern Michigan tomorrow in the final home game at McLane Stadium at 3:05 p.m.
