EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State junior pitcher Mark Mulder (South Holland, IL) has been named to the Louisville Slugger Baseball All-America third team. The Louisville Slugger All-America teams are selected by the staff of Collegiate Baseball.
The 6-foot-6, 200-pound lefty, a first-team All-Big Ten selection, posted a won-lost slate of 6-6 along with an ERA of 3.40 this past season. He tossed a team-high 84 2/3 innings and established an MSU seasonal record with 113 strikeouts (led the Big Ten in strikeouts per game, 12.01) while only walking 19 batters. After two seasons of varsity competition, Mulder already holds down the No. 7 spot on the school's career list in strikeouts with 169 (152 1/3 career innings pitched).
Mulder was just one of three Big Ten players who were tabbed to the Louisville Slugger All-America teams. Brett Weber, a right-handed pitcher from Illinois and first baseman Robb Quinlan of Minnesota also landed third-team honors.
