Big Ten Men's Basketball All-Star Team's Record Drops to 2-2

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Big Ten Men's Basketball All-Stars got off to a slow start this afternoon and dropped a 93-70 decision to the Charleroi Basketball Club in the opening round of the Flanders Tournament held in Charleroi, Belgium. The setback leaves the Big Ten's four-game record at 2-2 with two more contests remaining before returning back to the United States.

The Big Ten squad saw Charleroi, the defending Belgium champions, race off to a 14-0 lead in the opening minutes of the first half en route to a 52-30 lead at halftime. Michigan's Jerod Ward was the only Big Ten player to score in double figures with 19 points. Julian Bonner of Northwestern was next on the scoresheet with nine points, while Michael Lewis (Indiana), Ryan Bowen (Iowa, team high four assists) and Greg Stevenson (Penn State) each recorded eight points. Michigan State's DuJuan Wiley led the club with seven rebounds.

Next up for the Big Ten All-Stars, coached by MSU's Tom Izzo, is a contest against Rhondorf on Friday afternoon.
