Former Spartan Steve Smith Added to NBA All-Star Roster

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Former Michigan State All-American and Atlanta Hawks guard Steve Smith was added to the Eastern Conference roster as a reserve Tuesday for the Feb. 8 NBA All-Star Game in New York's Madison Square Garden. Smith, a seven-year pro, will be making his first NBA All-Star Game appearance.

Smith is averaging 19.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 41 games this season.

A two-time All-American, Smith still ranks as MSU's second all-time leading scorer with 2,263 career points (18.5 scoring average).
