With his 28 points tonight, Maurice Ager brought his career total to 1,254, moving him past Stan Washington into 20th place all-time on the Spartan scoring list.
Ten rebounds also gave Davis his ninth double-double of the season and his 22nd of his career. MSU is 17-5 when he puts up double figures in two categories.
For the 10th time this season, Davis was perfect from the free throw line (7-7). Ager was also perfect from the charity stripe (6-6), the third time he has done that this season.
Matt Trannon notched a career high in points against the Hoosiers, tallying 11. His previous high was 10 points against Wisconsin- Green Bay on Dec. 21.
Trannon also compiled a career high in minutes with 33 and free throws made with seven.
By leading 41-39 at halftime and ultimately winning 87-73, State is 10-1 when leading after the first half.
The Green and White improved to 7-0 at home this season with the win and 7-2 when the game is decided by 16 or more points.
State had three players reach double-digits in points, and are 8-1 when that happens in 2005-06.
Michigan State shot 64 percent for the second half, their most efficient shooting performance since the second half against Wisconsin- Green Bay on Dec. 21.
MSU set a season high in free throw percentage, shooting 91.7 percent from the line (22-24).
State out-rebounded IU 29-18, and are now 10-1 when that happens.
