Michigan State v. Indiana Post Game Quotes

Indiana Head Coach Mike Davis Quotes

Opening Statement... "We played a very good basketball team tonight, they made the game too hard for us. I thought we gave everything we had in the first, but not having Lewis Monroe hurt us. But even with Lewis, the way they played, the way they shot the basketball I don't think we could have won. They did what they had to do, and they took care of the home game."

On the rebounding... "They are a great rebounding team. We told our bigs to just block out and have the guards rebound."

On the defense... "We struggled because they play a different pace. Our players got tired, they gave everything they could give in the first half, but we didn't do much the second half. The whole team was missing shots and they shot 64% in the second half."

Michigan State Coach Tom Izzo

On the game... "I was proud of my team, staff and assistant coaches, it was a heck of a job. They were a good basketball team and put more pressure on us than Wisconsin."

On Indiana... "I like to character teams and Indiana was tough. They didn't have their best game. They made some good shots and Killingsworth is a heck of a young player. We didn't stop him, but we held him. In the second half we made an effort, not to double team him, but to help out."

On the team's performance... "Our shooting and rebounding was very good, and it helps when we only turn the ball over three times in the second half. Davis did well, I feel like we got a lot out of our point guards, and Shannon (Brown) might not have shot as well, but he had his moments. I like how Marquise (Gray) played. It was a tough decision who to start, but he got some good shots and rebounds off the bench."
