With its 63-57 win over Illinois, Michigan State improved its home record to 13-0 in 2006-07. Michigan State is now 31-18 against Illinois at the Breslin Center.

Drew Neitzel was a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line, matching his career high set earlier this season against Chicago State (Dec.16). He is now averaging 90 percent from the line.

The Michigan State defense also came alive in the second half, holding Illinois to 30 percent shooting from the field, allowing the Illini to make just 6-of-20 field goals.
