With 26 points on the night, Maurice Ager moved from 17th place to 14th place on the Michigan State all-time scoring list with 1,406 points. Tonight, he passed Robert Chapman (1974-78), Darryl Johnson (1983-87) and Andre Hutson (1997-2001).
Ager's 26 points marks his first 20-plus scoring performance since Feb. 4 against Northwestern, a span of five games. He has 15 20-plus point games this season.
Shannon Brown tied a season high against Ohio State with eight rebounds. He has hit that mark four times this season, the last being against Iowa on Feb. 14.
Travis Walton tied a career high in assists against OSU with five. He has had five assists on four different occasions this season, the last being against Wichita State on Dec. 10.
Walton also tied a career high in rebounds with six. He last had six boards against Purdue on Feb. 8.
Ohio State's 79 points is the fifth highest total the Spartans have given up this season. The three highest totals came against Gonzaga (109), Georgia Tech (86), Hawaii (84) and Wisconsin (82).
For the ninth time in the last 10 outings, MSU held its opponent to a field goal percentage under 50.
