EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -Drew Neitzel scored 17 points and had five assists to lead balanced Michigan State past The Citadel 73-41 on Sunday.

Raymar Morgan had 10 points and reached double figures for the third straight game, tying the school record for a freshman debut.

Freshman Isaiah Dahlman also added 10 points for the Spartans (3-0), who will face Texas on Thursday night in the semifinals of the College Hoops Classic in New York.

The Citadel (1-1) was led by Demetrius Nelson with nine points. The Bulldogs shot just 29.4 percent from the field, 13.6 percent from 3-point range.

Michigan State scored the first 12 points and held The Citadel scoreless for the first 8:20. The Bulldogs battled back with strips for breakaway layups and drew within 29-21 at halftime.

The Spartans responded with a 44-20 edge in second-half scoring, shooting 50 percent after the break to The Citadel's 24.1 percent.

Michigan State also led 36-21 in rebounds and 16-9 in assists, made 8-of-17 from 3-point range and made 23 free throws to the Bulldogs' Citadel's eight.
