EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Raymar Morgan and Durrell Summers both scored 16 points and Drew Neitzel added 14 to help No. 9 Michigan State beat San Jose State 85-45 in a matchup of Spartans on Wednesday night.
Morgan was 6-for-10 from the field and Neitzel was 6-for-9 for Michigan State (10-1).
Summers, an acrobatic freshman, came off the bench to thrill the crowd with breathtaking slams and hustle plays.
Center Goran Suton finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, four blocked shots and four steals for Michigan State, which plays No. 4 Texas in Auburn Hills on Saturday.
Travis Walton added 10 assists and four steals as Michigan State had a 26-4 edge in assists.
DeShawn Wright led San Jose State (3-5) with 17 points, and Chris Oakes had nine in his first game after transferring from Pepperdine.
Michigan State's 12-0 start ended any thought of an upset. San Jose State shot 24.2 percent from the field in trailing 36-21 at halftime. The lead grew throughout the second half with Michigan State staying with its defense and running the floor for easy baskets.
