EAST LANSING, Mich. -
2007-08 MSU Men's Basketball Schedule

The Big Ten Conference announced the television schedule for the entire men's basketball season on Monday morning. Every one of Michigan State's 31 regular-season games, in addition to the two exhibition contests will be televised. In fact, with the creation of the Big Ten Network, every men's basketball home game at every conference school will be televised for the first time in league history.

Michigan State's 33 television appearances will include at least one on CBS, seven on ESPN or ESPN2, 14 on the Big Ten Network, four on ESPNU and one on VERSUS. The championship rounds of the CBE Classic (Nov. 19-20) will be on either ESPNU or ESPN2. Late in conference action, one game could be televised by either ESPN, ESPN2 or the Big Ten Network, while three games could be televised by CBS, ESPN or the Big Ten Network. Determinations on specific networks will be made in February.

"With the expanded schedule and the depth of the league, this winter promises to be a very exciting basketball season for Spartan fans and Big Ten fans across the state of Michigan and throughout the country," said MSU head coach Tom Izzo. "There couldn't be a better time to launch the Big Ten Network, which will be able to feature some key games during the conference race in addition to several non-conference games, not only at Michigan State, but across the Big Ten."

Throughout the Big Ten, no fewer than 235 men's basketball games, including home, away and neutral contests, will be featured on CBS, an ESPN platform or the Big Ten Network. Of the 235 televised games, 135 will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. In addition to games, the network's coverage will include nightly updates on Big Ten Tonight, coaches shows, classic games and more. During the conference season, the Big Ten Network schedule will feature a doubleheader every Wednesday night along with games on Tuesday or Thursday and double-, triple- or quadruple headers on the weekends. In addition to the coverage provided by the Big Ten Network, the number of conference games carried by CBS or the ESPN platform has also increased. The new agreement will also double the amount of mid-week games featured during intraconference play, as ESPN or ESPN2 will air a weekly contest on both Tuesday and Thursday.

"Thanks to increased commitments from CBS and ESPN along with the creation of the Big Ten Network, Big Ten men's basketball will receive more national exposure than ever before," said Big Ten Commissioner James E. Delany. "Over the last three seasons, more than 170 men's basketball games were not televised, but our new agreements guarantee that all home games will appear on television. The breadth and depth of this coverage is unprecedented and will highlight our outstanding coaches and student-athletes on almost a daily basis from the first opening tip."
