Coach Izzo And Coach Garland Team Up To Help Former Teammate

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's basketball head coach Tom Izzo, assistant coach Mike Garland and former Spartan Greg Kelser will all be speakers at the Faith Clinic Church of God in Christ Benefit Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 9 in Warren, Mich. Faith Clinic, led by Dr. Zachary N. Hicks and wife Lisa, is a Detroit institution that has been uplifting people in the city for more than 17 years, meeting the needs of underprivileged Detroiters. Services range from transitional housing and drug rehabilitation to workforce preparation and feeding programs, as well as outreach efforts to children and teens, providing counseling, mentoring, dance and athletic competition. Izzo, Garland and Hicks were all college teammates at Northern Michigan in the 1970s. The event will be held at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Warren, Mich., on Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. To purchase a table of 10 or an individual dinner, call Tommy Billingsley at 313-469-4339.
