Men’s Basketball Ranked No. 2 in Associated Press Preseason Poll
Spartans Host Hillsdale on Friday Night
East Lansing, Mich. - Michigan State’s men’s basketball team is ranked No. 2 in the country in the Associated Press Preseason poll, released on Wednesday afternoon. MSU is also ranked No. 2 nationally in the USA Today Coaches Preseason poll.
The Spartans received 13 first-place votes and had 1,520 points in the poll, behind No. 1 Duke (33 first-place votes, 1,572).
Arizona, Kansas and Kentucky rounded out the top-five teams.
The Spartans were one of four Big Ten schools ranked in the Top 25, joined by Minnesota (No. 15), Northwestern (No. 19) and Purdue (No. 20).
MSU plays No. 1 Duke on Nov. 14 in the Champions Classic in Chicago and also has a home game against No. 14 Notre Dame on Nov. 30.
The Spartans close out their exhibition slate on Friday, Nov. 3, hosting Hillsdale College at the Breslin Center. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
