Michigan State Named Sports Illustrated's School of the Decade
Dec. 16, 2009
EAST LANSING, Mich. -
With 2009 coming to a close, Seth Davis of Sports Illustrated took a look back at the highlights and lowlights of the last decade, and named Michigan State the Best School. His article at SI.com notes that teams like North Carolina and Florida deserve to be in the discussion, but when you consider that MSU has been to four Final Fours and every NCAA Tournament in the last decade, they have to get the ultimate nod. The article also includes Michigan State's triple-overtime game against Gonzaga in the 2005 Maui Invitational as the best regular-season game of the last decade. Overall, the contest is rated as the fourth-best game. MSU's double-overtime victory over Kentucky in the 2005 Elite Eight is part of a trio of games ranked third, as Illinois' win over Arizona and Louisville's win over West Virginia from the same weekend combine as one entry.
