Graduate Assistant

University of Rochester

Brian Daboll begins his second season as a graduate assistant on the Michigan State staff, his first year as an on-the-field coach. Last year, Daboll worked as an administrative graduate assistant. The 24-year-old Daboll will assist the Spartan defensive coaches, working primarily with the defensive backs. Prior to joining the Michigan State staff, Daboll served as a defensive secondary coach at William and Mary in 1997. The Buffalo, N.Y., native was a two-year starter at free safety at the University of Rochester. An injury at the end of Daboll?s junior year cut short his playing career, so he became a student assistant coach in charge of the wide receivers. He also worked as a volunteer coach at his high school alma mater, St. Francis in Athol Springs, N.Y. A Dean?s List student, Daboll graduated from the University of Rochester in 1997 with a degree in economics. Born April 14, 1975, Daboll is single and resides in East Lansing.
