Nick Ruffing is in his third year with the Michigan State football program, his second as a video intern.
The 28-year-old Ruffing served as a graduate assistant during the 2011 season, assisting offensive line coach Mark Staten.
The East Lansing, Mich., native previously spent two years working as a graduate assistant in the weight room under Ken Mannie.
Ruffing also served as an assistant coach for five years under Bill Feraco at East Lansing High School. He coached the varsity offensive line his last two years, helping the Trojans win two district championships and one regional title. During his tenure at East Lansing High School, Ruffing coached current Spartans Blake Treadwell and Danny Folino.
He was a two-year letterman as an offensive tackle at East Lansing High School where he played for Coach Jeff Smith.
Ruffing earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology and a specialization in coaching from Michigan State in 2008. He received his master's degree in kinesiology/sports administration in December 2011.
