In the 48th meeting between the two schools, Northwestern defeated Michigan State, 48-41 in overtime, before a crowd of 67,378 at Spartan Stadium...MSU is now 2-3 all-time in overtime games (wins vs. Indiana-1998; Notre Dame-2005; losses vs. Michigan-2004; Michigan-2005).

OFFENSE:
Javon Ringer rushed for a season-best 185 yards on 12 carries (15.4 avg)...his career high is 193 yards vs. Illinois in 2005...with his 185 yards, he crossed the 2,000-yard mark for his career, becoming just the 13th Spartan in history to do so...he now has 2,043 career rushing yards...it marks his third consecutive 100-yard game, the first time in his career he has crossed the century mark three-straight games...it marks the first time a Spartan has rushed for 100 yards in three-straight games since T.J. Duckett accomplished the feat in 2001 (Penn State, Missouri, Fresno State)...he tied his career high with three rushing TDs on the day...he scored on a 4-yard run on the first play of the second quarter...he ran for a 47-yarder in the third quarter...his TD run of 80 yards in the fourth quarter was the longest run of Ringer's career...he now has 10 career rushing TDs...in the last two games, Ringer is averaging 15.0 yards per rush (330 yards, 22 carries)...he also had six catches for 54 yards...Ringer, who had 233 all-purpose yards last week at Wisconsin, totaled a career-best 239 all-purpose yards against the Wildcats.

Jehuu Caulcrick rushed for his 27th career TD with a 1-yard TD in the first quarter...he now has 28 total career TDs (27 rushing, 1 receiving), which is tied for eighth in MSU history.

Devin Thomas accounted for a career-best 266 all-purpose yards (143 kick return; 61 receiving; 52 rushing; 10 punt return)...it marks the third time this season he has accumulated more than 200 all-purpose yards (261 vs. Bowling Green; 230 vs. Wisconsin)...he had a career-long 70-yard kick return in the fourth quarter to set up MSU's game-tying TD that made it 41-41...his career-best 143 kickoff return yards rank as the ninth-best single-game total in MSU history...Thomas caught a career-high six passes.

Mark Dell caught a season-long 21-yard reception on the last play of the first quarter...he finished with two catches for 32 yards.

Eric Andino had his first career TD catch with a 19-yard grab in the fourth quarter that tied the game at 41...it also marked the longest catch of his career...he tied his career high with two catches and had a career-best 24 receiving yards.

DEFENSE:
Jonal Saint-Dic recorded a career-high 10 tackles...ranked fourth in the nation in tackles for losses entering the game, he had one against the Wildcats, upping his season total to 10.

Kaleb Thornhill had a career-high three tackles for losses...he finished with a season-best nine tackles.

Northwestern's C.J. Bacher threw for 520 yards, the second most allowed in Michigan State history...Fresno State's David Carr threw for 531 yards in the 2001 Silicon Valley Bowl...Bacher is the third quarterback to throw for more than 500 yards against the Spartans (Carr and Purdue's Drew Brees in 1999)...the five passing TDs by Bacher is tied for the most against the Spartans (Brees in 1999 and Wisconsin's Jim Sorgi in 2003).

SPECIAL TEAMS:
After making his first 54 career PAT attempts, Brett Swenson missed his first career PAT as his kick was blocked after MSU's first touchdown of the day.
