Kirk Cousins threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to B.J. Cunningham in the fourth quarter, marking Cousins' 16th straight game he has thrown a TD, tying a school record (Drew Stanton, 16, 2005-06)...it marked Cousins' 36th career TD pass, which moves him into sixth place all-time at MSU...Cousins had his streak of six straight games with 200 yards or more passing snapped, as he completed 21-of-29 passes for 198 yards...Cousins became just eighth quarterback in MSU history to compile 5,000 career passing yards, as he now has 5,136 passing yards, seventh most in the school record books...Cousins threw a career-high three interceptions after not throwing a pick in the last three games.
Charlie Gantt caught a career-high four passes for 35 yards...Gantt's previous career high was three receptions, which he did five times.
Mark Dell led MSU with a game-high eight catches for 98 yards...Dell now has 1,966 career receiving yards, which moves him into eighth place all-time at MSU.
B.J. Cunningham caught four passes and moved into a tie for ninth place in MSU history, along with Mill Coleman, with 126 career receptions.
Michigan State was held to a season-low 31 yards rushing...it marks the fewest rushing yards by MSU in a game since compiling 31 rushing yards against Georgia in the 2009 Capital One Bowl.
The six points scored by MSU are the fewest for the program since Dec. 29, 2003, when the Spartans fell 17-3 to Nebraska in the Alamo Bowl...the Spartans entered the game scoring at least 26 points in their first eight games for the first time in school history.
Red-shirt freshman quarterback Andrew Maxwell, playing in his third game of the season, registered season highs in completions (four) and attempts (10)...he finished with 29 yards passing.
Jerel Worthy recorded a career-high five tackles, including one for a 4-yard loss, and also had a pass break-up.
The Hawkeyes now lead the all-time series, 22-18-2, including a 13-8-1 record in games played in Iowa City...MSU has now lost seven straight at Kinnick Stadium, dating back to 1989.
