Head Coach Mark Dantonio
On Boston College's defense:
"They have a good defense. I think that [safety Jamie] Silva is an excellent football player and he does a nice job breaking up things. Whether our QB threw it late or it was a great play, who knows? But I thought the turnover in the red zone with the mishandled snap hurt us and led to seven points. Not scoring and not getting the touchdowns in the red zone hurt us a little bit. But it's not a perfect world out there and Brian Hoyer has just done an outstanding job at quarterback for this football team. We won't second guess anything. He's in control out there and I believe in him totally. He is our quarterback."
On the MSU defense:
"I thought we did an outstanding job. Our coaching staff knew exactly what BC was doing. But we got beat over the top. For the most part [BC's Matt Ryan] had to put the ball down a lot. And we sacked, caused a fumble and had a nice interception. So I think we did a nice job defensively for the most part."
On special teams miscues:
"It was [Devin Thomas'] first time out there returning punts. Give credit to their punter. He hung them up. He is one of the finest punters in the country. He probably should have played the 10 [yard line] and hung it up. But he was trying to make the play and caught it on the eight and misjudged the ball. Until you've stood back there and caught a punt, I don't think you understand how difficult that is. I'm not sure how many punts that he returned, but I don't second guess great players who make a great amount of plays for us and he is one of them."

Feelings on the end of the season:
"I am very happy with the success that we've had. I feel like we've done a lot of things that people didn't expect us to do. I'm real proud of the way that everyone stepped up in every game. Every game that we have lost, we haven't lost by more than one touchdown. We were always there and always just a couple of plays away from winning, so you can't really ask for anything more. Our seniors showed tremendous leadership throughout the year. They put our team on their back. They knew it was there last season and they wanted us to be a part of their senior year. Overall, I'm just real happy with the way we stepped up and overcame adversity and kept fighting all the way until the end of the season."
On the running game:
"We worked hard and running the ball is what got us here. We knew that they were the number one running defense, and that's something we took as the challenge because a lot of people didn't expect us to be able to run the ball too well against them. I owe a lot of that credit to our offensive line."
