? Game MVP Plaxico Burress sets the MSU school and bowl record with 13 receptions against Florida and ties the MSU bowl record for touchdowns with three (3 by Andre Rison in 1989 Gator Bowl).

? MSU Defensive MVP Julian Peterson recorded eight total tackles, including five for losses (32 yards). Peterson was credited with three sacks (30 yards), two forced fumbles and one pass break-up.

? MSU?s 37 points marks the most ever scored by a Spartan team in a bowl game.

? Paul Edinger set a Michigan State bowl record with three field goals against Florida.

? Bill Burke sets the MSU career touchdown passes mark with 46 after three against Florida and becomes only the second Spartan to have two 2,000-yard passing seasons (Tony Banks, 1994-95).

? Plaxico Burress records his second-straight season with 1,000 receving yards and becomes the sixth MSU player to go over 2,000 receiving yards in his career.

? Plaxico Burress caught his 18th, 19th and 20th career touchdown passes to move into a tie for second place (Andre Rison) on the MSU career touchdown recpetions list.

? Lloyd Clemons recorded his fourth 100-yard rusing game of the season with 105 vs. Florida.

? Paul Edinger moves into third place (46/57) on the MSU career field goal chart with his 44th , 45th and 46th field goals against Florida.

? Paul Edinger recorded the second-longest field goal in MSU bowl history with a 46-yarder in the first quarter. It was the sixth-longest field goal in Citrus Bowl history.

? MSU ties a team bowl record with 17 points in the second quarter (17 in 2nd vs. LSU in 1995 Independence Bowl).

? Michigan State is 9-1 when scoring first, this marks the 10th time in 12 games this season that MSU has gotten on the scoreboard first.

? This win breaks a four-game bowl losing streak and marks the first postseason win for MSU since 1990. It also breaks a three-game losing streak against current SEC opponents.
