Friday Walk-Thru: Spartans Ready for Season Opener
Sept. 4, 2009
EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State football team underwent its final preparations for the season opener against Montana State with an hour walk-thru Friday afternoon at Spartan Stadium. "It's game time - our guys will be ready to play," said MSU head coach Mark Dantonio. "There will always be butterflies, including the coach, because you're always trying to have all of your bases covered. I think we're ready to go, now we just have to go out on the field. "I think execution, especially on special teams, is key. No unforced errors, just being systematically correct as much as anything. We've got a lot of live practices here, but you never really know until you get out on the field with all of the people here. Emotions are going to play a part of it, along with the excitement and enthusiasm." The Spartans and Bobcats will meet at noon on Saturday in Spartan Stadium; the game is being televised on the Big Ten Network. The Spartan Ticket Office has reported more than 73,000 tickets have been sold for Saturday's game.
