EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio met with the media Sunday evening to discuss his team's performance against Northwestern; listen to the audio in the Spartan Sports Podcast.
In the latest BCS standings released Sunday night, Michigan State moved up to No. 5 after defeating Northwestern, 35-27, Saturday in Evanston, Ill. It marks MSU's highest ranking ever in the BCS Standings.
In the national rankings, Michigan State moved up to No. 5 in the Associated Press and USA TODAY/Coaches Polls. At No. 5, it marks MSU's highest ranking since USA TODAY began administering the poll during the 1991-92 season. It also marks MSU's highest ranking in the AP Poll since Oct. 10, 1999, when the Spartans climbed to No. 5 after a 34-31 win over No. 3 U-M.
The No. 5/5 Spartans (8-0, 4-0 Big Ten) will travel to No. 18/19 Iowa (5-2, 2-1) next Saturday, Oct. 30. The game, which starts at 3:30 p.m. ET, will be televised on ABC.
