EAST LANSING, Mich. - For the first time in his career, senior quarterback Brian Hoyer has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Spartans to a 35-21 victory at Michigan last Saturday.

Hoyer completed 17-of-29 throws for 282 yards and a season-high three touchdowns as the Spartans snapped a six-game losing streak in the series and won in Ann Arbor for the first time since 1990. It marked his third 200-yard passing game of the season and the 11th of his career.

Hoyer completed scoring tosses of 61 yards to Blair White, 4 yards to Charlie Gantt and 7 yards to Josh Rouse. He completed passes to nine different receivers.

The captain even caught his first career pass, a 24-yard reception from Keshawn Martin in the second quarter.

No. 22/21 Michigan State (7-2, 4-1 Big Ten) returns to action Saturday, Nov. 1 to face Wisconsin (4-4, 1-4) at noon in Spartan Stadium.
