EAST LANSING, Mich. - As the Michigan State football team prepares to take on Purdue Saturday at noon in Spartan Stadium, catch up on all the latest information on the Spartans. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network. In other news, four Spartans have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Team. Junior fullback Andrew Hawken and junior wide receiver Blair White earned first-team honors and are now eligible for Academic All-America status. Hawken owns a 3.44 GPA in supply chain management, while White has a 3.87 GPA in human biology. Sophomore punter Aaron Bates and junior linebacker Adam Decker garnered second-team accolades; Bates has an impressive 3.95 GPA in general business administration/pre-law and Decker has a 3.54 GPA in finance. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with a minimum 3.2 GPA in addition to being a starter or key reserve.
