Men's Golf Heads to Iowa for Hawkeye Invitational

Spartans begin focus towards the Big Ten Championship at the end of the month.

SENIOR (2011-12): Academic All-Big Ten ... Appeared in two events ... Had a scoring average of 75.3 ... As an individual, tied for 23rd at the Fossum Invitational with a career-low 224 (76-72-76) ... Also tied for 46th at the Hawkeye Invitational with a 228 (79-74-75).

JUNIOR (2010-11): Academic All-Big Ten ... Appeared in four events ... Had a stroke average of 77.4 ... Had his best finish of the season, tying for 24th as an individual at the Illini Spring Classic, shooting a 150 (78-72) ... Part of the MSU competitive lineup at the Big Ten Championship, tying for 43rd with a 311 (76-76-81-78).

SOPHOMORE (2009-10): Academic All-Big Ten ... Played in four events ... Had a 78.00 scoring average ... Tied for 22nd as an individual at the Fossum Invitational, shooting a season-low 228 (72-75-81).


FRESHMAN (2008-09): Competed in two events in his initial campaign ... Posted a 75.83 scoring average ... Tied for fifth as an individual at the Fossum Invitational with a 182 (76-68-38) ... Part of the Spartans competitive lineup at the Big Ten Championships, placing 54th at 311 (81-75-78-77).

SUMMER 2008: Won AJGA Randy Wise Junior Open with a 213 (70-73-70) ... Tied for eighth at the Coca-Cola Junior Championship ... Advanced to match play at the Michigan Amateur, after finishing 16th in stroke play with a 150 (75-75) ... Qualified for stroke play and placed 16th at the Michigan Junior State Amateur ... Qualified for the Michigan Open.

JUNIOR GOLF: Won the 2007 Kensington Valley Golf Championship.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner on the Brighton High School golf team ... Named to the MHSAA All-State Super Team as a senior ... Also named Livingston County Player of the Year and first-team all-region in 2008 in his final campaign ... Finished sixth at the MHSAA Division I State Championship ... Won six high school tournaments his senior year, including the state regional championship ... First-team all-district, all-county and all-conference as a junior.
