Men's Golf Finishes 13th At Conrad Rehling Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Michigan State men's golf finished 13th at the Conrad Rehling Alabama Spring Invitational after shooting a three-round score of 923 (304-308-311) on Sunday, March 14. This year's Conrad Rehling Invitational is being played at the par-71, 6,996-yard Capstone Club in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Alabama won the team title on its home course with an 878 (293-287-298). Jacksonville State finished second with an 880 (286-295-299), while Kentucky was third with an 881 (299-290-292). Ole Miss (884), Kent State (887) and Toledo (887) round out the top six teams. Senior Ben Fox (Fort Wayne, Ind.), who was competing as an individual, was State's top finisher. He finished tied for 32nd after shooting a 227 (80-72-75). Kentucky's John Homes took medalist honors after shooting a 209 (69-69-71). Alabama's Lars Brovold was second with a 210 (68-71-71), while Clint Provost was third at 212 (69-71-72). Junior Andrew Ruthkoski (Muskegon, Mich.) finished tied for 37th after shooting a three-round score of 229 (78-74-77). Redshirt freshman Zac Zedrick (Danville, Ill.) tied for 44th with a 231 (73-80-78), while freshman Matt Harmon (Grand Rapids, Mich.) finished 56th with a 234 (83-76-75). Rounding out the Spartan line-up is senior Casey Lubahn (Sand Lake, Mich.) and redshirt freshman Mitch Pierce (Fenton, Mich.), who tied for 63rd with a 238. Lubahn shot rounds of 79-78-81, while Pierce recorded rounds of 74-81-83. Michigan State returns to the links April 2-3 at the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas.
