Men's Golf Places 13th at Linger Longer Invitational
Senior Carson Castellani led the Spartans with a tie for 51st place.

GREENSBORO, Ga. - The Michigan State men's golf team wrapped up action at the Linger Longer Invitational on Sunday afternoon, finishing in 13th place. The Spartans shot a 19-over par 307 on Sunday to increase its 54-hole total to 49-over par 913 (289-317-307).
Senior Carson Castellani was the top Spartan this weekend, tying for 51st at 11-over par 227 (70-79-78). Junior Jon Finley and sophomore Mitch Rutledge shot 15-over par 231 and were in a group tied for 64th. Finley had the best round of the day for MSU with an even par 72 and led the team with 13 birdies for the tournament. Freshman Charlie Netzel tied for 70th with a 17-over par 233 (72-78-83) and classmate Gareth Lappin shot a 24-over par 240 (77-77-86) to tie for 79th.
In a field full of eight of the top-50 programs in the country, No. 5 Georgia pulled away from No. 1 Alabama on the final day for the team victory. The Bulldogs finished the weekend at 27-under par 837. Georgia's Michael Cromie won a one-hole playoff over Alabama's Robbie Shelton to win individual medalist honors, after the two tied at 9-under par 207.
The Spartans return to action on April 12-13 for the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa.
