Men's Golf Fifth at Mardi Gras Invitational
Erhgott and Reigel in six-way tie for sixth.
NEW ORLEANS- The Michigan State men's golf team is in fifth place after two rounds at the Southeastern Louisiana/Mardi Gras Invitational, at the Beau Chene Country Club in New Orleans. The Spartans finished the first two rounds with a combined team score of 303-296=599.
Mississippi leads the field after firing a 293-284=577 team score, followed by Georgia State (285-296=581), and host Southeastern Louisiana (294-291=585).
On the individual side, MSU was lead by senior John Ehrgott, who shot a 68-76=144 to land himself in a tie for sixth, and junior Matt Reigel, also tied for sixth after posting a 72-72=144. Junior Alberto Quevedo was the next MSU golfer on the leaderboard, tying for 41st with an 80-75=155 scorecard.
Competition will resume Tuesday morning with the final 18 holes of the event.
