COLUMBUS, Ohio - Michigan State men's golf senior Matthew Moseley shot his second-straight 3-over par 74 today in the second round of the NCAA Columbus Regional at the Ohio State University Golf Club's Scarlet Course. Moseley is tied for 20th place at 6-over par 148 entering tomorrow's final round.
Second Round Results/Live Scoring
"Matthew played his heart out today, but just had a rough finish," said Spartan head coach Casey Lubahn. "He made a couple mental errors on a tough golf course and it cost him. I feel like his best round is ahead of him tomorrow. He just needs to execute better off the tee and get a few more putts to go in."
Starting on the back nine today, Moseley birdied the par-4 10th hole. After a par on the 11th, he posted bogeys on the 12th and 14th holes, before paring the next eight holes. His second birdie of the day came on the par-3 fifth hole, before skidding down the stretch with bogeys on his final three holes.
Moseley tees off tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. ET off the 10th hole.
The top-five teams and the low individual not on those teams will move on to the NCAA Championship at the Capital City Club Crabapple Course in Atlanta, Ga. on May 28-June 2.
