Men's Golf Finishes 15th at The Prestige at PGA WEST

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's golf team completed play at The Prestige at PGA WEST on Tuesday, held at the TPC Stadium Course at PGA WEST in La Quinta, Calif. The Spartans finished 15th with a three-day, 54-hole total of 71-over par 935 (306-315-314). Junior Chris Mory, who shot a team-low, 3-over 75 today, and sophomore James Ross led the Spartans for the tournament at 16-over par 232 to tie for 64th. Freshman Gareth Blease was 74th overall with a 23-over 239, while senior Derrick Williams was 79th at 31-over 247. Freshman Conor O'Neil, who was the top Spartan through two rounds, was forced to withdraw prior to the final round. California held on to win the team title, shooting a three-day total of even-par 864 (286-289-289). The Bears took the victory by three shots over Stanford and Washington. Stanford's Andrew Yun came from behind on Tuesday to earn medalist honors. Yun shot a 7-under 65 today to win the tournament by six strokes with a 12-under par 204.
The Spartans conclude the fall schedule on Oct. 23-24 with the Bridgestone Intercollegiate in Greensboro, N.C.
