EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's golf team heads to Iowa City, Iowa for the Hawkeye-Great River Entertainment Invitational this weekend. Competition at the Finkbine Golf Course begins with a 36 holes on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET and concludes Sunday with 18 holes at 10 a.m. ET.
"The Hawkeye Invitational is the first of three important weekends in a row for our team," said Spartan head coach Casey Lubahn. "The golf course is similar to our facilities and it should help us get comfortable around the greens. We need a great practice round day to dial on our games and get off to a good start."
This weekend's field includes six Big Ten schools and five top-100 teams in the Golfstat rankings. Joining Iowa and MSU in the field is Charlotte, Iowa State, Kansas, Miami (Ohio), Minnesota, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, Washington State and Wisconsin.
Three Spartans have experience at Finkbine Golf Course, as Michigan State placed eighth at the Hawkeye Invitational last season. Moseley led MSU and placed 18th, while Dave Ellis was 26th and Dan Ellis was 36th.
