Michigan State men's golf heads west to Sammamish, Washington for the NCAA Regionals May 15-17 at Aldarra Golf Club. This is the Spartans second-straight season in the NCAA Regionals after finishing tied for eighth at the Stillwater Regional last season.

Senior Charlie Netzel is the only player from last year's starting lineup who will play this season. Fellow senior Sam Weatherhead has missed much of the season with a hand injury.

"I am excited to be playing with so many Midwest teams. There is so much familiarity with Michigan and Kent State. We have already played a dual with Penn State this year. We have played them four times this season. That is going to help us more than anything. It certainly isn't the easiest for travel, but what a great experience for all the teams to go out there," MSU head coach Casey Lubahn said.

Built on the original site of the Boeing family farm, Aldarra offers a challenging par 71 layout that meanders through rolling terrain with stunning views of nearby Mount Si and the Cascade mountain range. Just minutes east of Seattle, Aldarra Golf Club is the only golf course in Washington designed by world renowned golf course designer Tom Fazio. The absence of homes on the golf course, along with the pristine condition of the golf course and a world class design make Aldarra a true golfers paradise.

In the 2007 fall edition of Golf Digest Index magazine, Aldarra Golf Club was ranked #31 in the nation in the Modern Club category. This category ranks private clubs across the United States built since 1990. In addition to this distinguished ranking, Aldarra was also recognized upon its opening as the #2 new private course in the country by Golf Digest Magazine.

While receiving awards and recognition are nice, they do not change the vision and culture of "great golf and great people" that make up the personality of this special club. We hope you enjoy the course tour.

"This was a pretty impressive group that just had a lot of adversity to beat back over the course of the season. They've handled it with incredible class and a lot of guys have had to step up in their absence. What we think is the minimum standard of excellence for this program is we compete in the tournament every year," Lubahn added.

The NCAA Championships will conclude May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois.
