Men’s Golf Earns GCAA All-Academic Team Recognition
This is the fifth-straight year the Spartans have been honored.
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men’s golf was recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) with All-Academic Team honors for achieving a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the 2016-17 academic year. This was the fifth-straight season that the Spartans were honored as a GCAA All-Academic Team.

In all, a total of 102 Division I teams, earned GPAs of 3.00 or higher this season. The Spartans were one of only three Big Ten teams that earned the honor.
Seven Spartan men’s golf team were also honored by the Big Ten academically early this summer after being named Academic All-Big Ten. Dylan Deogun, Scott Dunsire, Sean Friel, Charlie Netzel, Glenn Piot, Michael Sharp and Sam Weatherhead were all honored. Sharp, a junior from Kendallville, Indiana, was also honored as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholars, after posting at least a 3.7 GPA. Sharp was the only men’s golfer in the Big Ten with a 4.0 GPA.
