EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's golf coach Casey Lubahn has announced the team's 2014-15 schedule.

"This upcoming season is an exciting year for our program and this schedule provides a great mix of events that will test our team," said Lubahn. "As always, we strive to play against the best competition we can find while also playing the best facilities in the country. It is also important to have great spacing and allow our guys to develop as well rounded student-athletes. In all of these measurements, we are very happy with the competition schedule and look forward to the season ahead."

The Spartans will kick off their season Sept. 7-8 in Independence, Minnesota, at the Gopher Invitational for the second year in a row. MSU will then compete in back-to-back weeks at the Inverness Intercollegiate (Sept. 22-23) in Toledo, Ohio, and the Notre Dame Fightin' Irish Golf Classic (Sept. 28-30) in South Bend, Indiana. Last season, the Spartans took second at the ND Classic and defeated 11 other teams.

Fall tournament action concludes with the Rod Meyers Invitational (Oct. 11-12) at the Duke Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina, and the Quail Valley Intercollegiate (Oct. 27-28) in Vero Beach, Florida.

The spring season begins with the annual Big Ten Match Play Championship Feb. 13-14. Michigan State will look to build on last year's event, as it went 2-1 including wins over Penn State and Wisconsin.

MSU will then host the third-annual Colleton River Collegiate on March 9-10 in Bluffton, South Carolina. The Spartans finished third in the event this past spring, highlighted by Charlie Netzel winning the tournament and three other top-10 individual finishes by Michigan State.

In April, the Green and White will play in the Kepler Intercollegiate (April 11-12) in Columbus, Ohio, and the Yale Spring Invitational (April 18-19) in New Haven, Connecticut, before heading to the Big Ten Championships April 24-26 at the Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Indiana. This will be the first of two Big Ten Championships held at Victoria National, as the Big Ten announced a two-year agreement with the Club to host the event again in 2016.

NCAA Regional play is set for May 14-16, while the NCAA Championships will be held at the Concession Golf Course in Bradenton, Florida, May 26-June 1.
