Men's Golf Earns GCAA All-Academic Team Recognition
The Spartans were one of 113 teams to post a GPA of 3.0 or better this season.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's golf team was recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) with All-Academic Team honors for achieving a grade point average of 3.0 or better in 2009-10. In all, a total of 113 collegiate teams, including 64 in Division I, earned GPAs of 3.00 or higher this season.
It is the second academic honor for the Spartans by the GCAA this year, as senior Jack Newman was selected as a 2009-10 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar. Newman was just the seventh Spartan to be honored and the second to win the award multiple times
Several members of the Spartan men's golf team were also honored by the Big Ten academically early this summer, with six being named Academic All-Big Ten, including two - Dave Ellis and Newman - additionally being Big Ten Distinguished Scholars.
