EAST LANSING, Mich. - Former Michigan State golfers Casey and Rachel (Meikle) Lubahn will be one of eight duos participating in The Big Break X: Michigan, the Golf Channel's hit reality show. The show debuts tonight, Oct. 7, at 10 p.m. ET and will run every Tuesday until Dec. 16. The series was filmed this summer at the Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs, Mich.

The Lubahns are the only married couple of the eight male/female tandems. Other pairs range from dating couples to good friends to fellow collegiate coaches. According to the Big Break home page, each competitor will be challenged in every aspect of their golf game, in addition to their relationship. The 10th season of Big Break marks the first time that a teams will be competing for a chance to play on Tour. The winning pair will receive a tournament exemption on the PGA and LPGA Tour, respectively.

Casey, the current head coach of the Miami University men's golf team, spent two stints at Michigan State, one as a student-athlete and one as an assistant coach. He lettered for the Spartans from 2002-04 and finished his career with the fifth-lowest career stroke average in program history. Upon graduation, Casey remained in East Lansing as an assistant coach from June 2004 to August 2006. After a year away from the program, he returned in June 2007 until his appointment as Miami coach this summer. Casey helped lead the Spartans to two Big Ten titles (2005, 2008) and was a finalist for the GCAA Jan Strickland Award, which is awarded to the NCAA Division I Assistant Coach of the Year, last season.

Rachel was a four-year letterwinner for the Spartans, graduating from Michigan State in 2007. She is currently eighth on the school's all-time stroke average list and holds the lowest 54 and 72-hole total in MSU history. The highlight of her Michigan State career was her first place finish at the 2007 Big Ten Championship, helping the Spartans to their first team title since 2001. Rachel competed in two NCAA Championships, with her highest finish coming with a tie for 40th in 2007.
