Spartans Rally for 6-3 Victory

All-America candidate Torey Krug and classmate Anthony Hayes each finished with three points, and MSU had six different goal scorers as the Spartans rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to down Ohio State 6-3 on Friday evening. The win snapped a two-game losing skid and three-game winless streak.

Neil's Notebook: Crandell A Steady, Reliable Blueline...

One of the key reasons Michigan State has had a good chance to win almost every game it played this season is consistent play by the defense. Before the season, the Spartans' defensive corps was a major question mark. But the defense responded to the challenge and has been a big factor in MSU's solid start in the first half of the season.

Spartans Head to Columbus to Battle Buckeyes

MSU will prepare this week for a series at Ohio State in Columbus to continue the team's four-game road trip. MSU and the Buckeyes split their series back in October at Munn Ice Arena, and MSU leads the all-time series 82-26-8

Neil's Notebook: Third Period Is Recent Turning Point

For Michigan State this season, it's all about the third period. In just about every game for the last two months, MSU has entered the third period either tied, up by a goal or down by a goal. Then, it's survival of the fittest, making plays and executing.

Spartans Fall, 4-3, at Ferris; Suffer Sweep

Michigan State fell on the road at Ferris State on Saturday, 4-3, and with its second one-goal loss of the weekend, was swept for the third time this season. MSU falls below .500 in CCHA play, at 8-9-3-2 and is 13-11-4 overall. Ferris State went 2-for-9 on the man advantage, the most opportunities and extra-man tallies allowed in a game by the Spartans since November.
