2001-02: Tallied 1-5--6 totals in 39 games • Versatile forward who played both center and wing • Notched an assist vs. Lake Superior State (Oct. 11) • Snapped 15-game scoreless streak with a helper in MSU’s victory over Michigan Tech in the Great Lakes Invitational (Dec. 28) • Picked up assists in back-to-back games vs. Quinnipiac (Jan. 4-5) to equal career-long points streak • Recorded first multiple-point game of year with a goal and an assist vs. Ohio State (Jan. 26).

PRIOR TO MSU: Spent two seasons with the U.S. Under-18 Team in Ann Arbor • Elected co-captain in 1998-99 when he totaled 15-20--35 in 40 games • The year before he had 10-30--40 totals in 50 games played • Joined the U.S. program after a year with the Kitchener Dutchmen where he was named Scholastic Player of the Year and Best Defensive Forward • Played for Team Rocky Mountain at the 1997 USA Hockey Select 17 Festival.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 30, 1980, in Calgary, Alberta • A pre-med major • Went to Forest Heights Secondary in Kitchener, Ontario, where he was an all-province honoree in cross country and track and field • Also played baseball in high school • Graduated from Pioneer H.S. in Ann Arbor • Favorite NHL team is the Carolina Hurricanes and favorite NHL player is Anaheim forward Paul Kariya • Son of Sheldon and Dorie Ferguson • Father, a four-year player for Northeastern (1971-76), is the director of player personnel for the Carolina Hurricanes.
