Playoffs Underway for Several Spartans

Twelve alums experience playoff hockey in ECHL, AHL

2010-11 (Senior) Academic All-Big Ten selection ... Named the Bill Burgess Outstanding Senior Award recipient at the team banquet ... Was the team's fourth-leading scorer with 11 goals and 14 assists ... Opened the season with a four point scoring streak .... Notched a goal and two assists against Maine in a season-high three point game (10/14)... Scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Maine in the third period (10/15)... Assisted on Torey Krug's game-winner over Alaska (10/23)... Registered a goal at Western Michigan (11/6)... Tallied an assist on Mike Merrfield's first period marker against Ohio State (11/12)... Scored twice in the second period during a 5-2 victory at Minnesota (11/26) ... Had a goal and an assist against Colorado College in the GLI semifinals (12/29), including the primary assist on Lee Reimer's first collegiate tally. Recorded a two-point effort and was a +2 in the first game of the season against Clarkson (10/9) ... Had a three-point weekend in a sweep of Western Michigan (10/30-31), netting the eventual game-winner on Friday on the power play and potting a shorthanded empty-netter to seal a victory at Lawson on Saturday ... Also had an assist in the road game at WMU ... Had an assist in each game in a sweep of Michigan (11/13-14), and was a +3 in the series ... Got the Spartans on the board with the team's first goal at Northern Michgian (12/5) ... Had a goal and an assist in each game of the Great Lakes Invitational (12/29-30), earning All-Tournament Team Honors ... Had three assists and was a +3 in the Lake Superior State series (1/8-9) ... Scored a tying goal in the third period against Ohio State (1/23) ... Had assists in both games of the Michigan series (1/29-30), including an outstanding individuaal effort to set up Andrew Rowe's shorthanded tally in the game at Joe Louis Arena ... 2008-09 (Sophomore): Skated in 37 of 38 games ... Team's third-leading scorer with seven goals and seven assists (14 points) ... Also ranked third in goals ... Assisted on both Michigan State goals in 2-2 stalemate with Northern Michigan (10/24)...Assisted on Daultan Leveille's third-period goal in 3-1 win over Western Michigan (10/31)...Scored two third-period tallies, 30 seconds apart, in 5-3 loss to Michigan (12/6)...Had an assist and the game-winning marker in 2-1 win over Alaska (1/3)...Had a goal and an assist in the Spartans' 4-1 win at Miami (1/16)...Scored a goal in Michigan State's 6-2 loss to Michigan at Joe Louis Arena (1/23)...Assisted on Andrew Rowe's strike in 5-3 loss at Michigan (1/24)...Credited with an assist on Daultan Leveille's third-period goal in 5-3 loss to Northern Michigan in first round of CCHA Tournament (3/6)...Had second two-goal game of the season in 8-2 loss at Northern Michigan in first round of CCHA Tournament (3/7).

2007-08 (Freshman): Made an impressive home debut, scoring twice against Colgate (10/26) ... Recorded assists in back-to-back games at Alaska (11/3) and at home against Mercyhurst (11/9) ... Assisted on Corey Tropp's second-period goal against Miami (11/15) ... Posted fourth assist on Chris Mueller's goal against Minnesota (11/23) ... Continued to generate offense with assists on both of Bryan Lerg's goals in Wisconsin game (11/24) ... Assisted on Mueller's first-period goal in game two against Ferris State (12/8) ... Potted a first-period goal against Providence (12/29) in the Great Lakes Invitational ... Assisted on Tropp's third-period goal in the first game of the Lake Superior State series (1/4) ... Opened his first post-season with the primary assist on Nick Sucharski's third-period goal in the first game of the CCHA quarterfinal series with Northern Michigan (3/14), breaking a nine-game scoreless drought.


Prior to MSU: Played two seasons for the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League (USHL), where he was a teammate of fellow freshman Andrew Rowe ... In his final season, potted 29 goals and 29 assists for 58 points, contributed seven power-play goals, and was a +17 in 60 games ... Ranked in a tie for fifth among USHL forwards in goals (29) and ranked eighth overall in game-winning goals (four) ... Selected to participate in the 2007 USHL All-Star Game, where he scored a goal ... Helped the team to a two-year overall 62-47 record ... Youngest member of the 2004 World Junior Inline team which captured a silver medal at the World Junior Championships in London, Ontario ... Played inline hockey for the Detroit Mission Bulldogs, winning three national championships.
