Opted to forego his final season of collegiate eligibility, signing a professional contract with the Philadelphia Flyers on May 6, 2010.
2009-10 (Junior): Named an alternate captain, along with classmate Corey Tropp, in pre-season camp ... Played in all 38 games, and was fourth on the team in scoring with 28 points ... Ranked second on the team and 12th in the CCHA with 15 goals, his career best ... Added 11 assists ... Five of his goals came on the power play ... Lined up with classmate Dustin Gazley on the wing and Daultan Leveille in the middle for 33 of 38 contests, and the trio skated 55 games together over two seasons ... Scored his first of the year in the first game against Clarkson (10/9) ... Also had a goal in the series finale against Maine (10/17) ... Scored the overtime game-winner at Miami (10/24) on an outstanding individual effort ... 2008-09 (Sophomore): Appeared in 35 games, scoring six goals and adding eight assists ... Goal total was the fourth highest on the team ... 2007-08 (Freshman): Played in 21 games in his first season in Green & White ... Scored his first collegiate goal in his season debut against Northern Michigan (10/26) ... Added his second career goal in second period of the eventual 3-3 stalemate with Minnesota (11/23) ... Saw action in MSU's tie in the series finale of the Michigan series (1/26) ... Had an outstanding performance in game two of the Nebraska-Omaha series (2/2), talling a second-period goal and two assists for his career first multi-point game; his assist on Bryan Lerg's goal in the opening period was the first in his career, while his second assist came on Tim Crowder's game winner in the second period, scored 27 seconds after his own ... Assisted on Tim Crowder's second-period goal in game two of the Western Michigan series (2/16) ... Continued to produce as a second-line winger with an assist on Crowder's first-period goal in the opening contest of the Michigan series (2/22).
Prior to MSU: Spent two seasons with the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League (USHL), where he played with classmate Dustin Gazley ... Recorded 19-15-34 totals in his final year in Sioux City, and was a +9 ... Potted five game-winning goals, which led the Musketeers and ranked fifth in the USHL ... Helped the Musketeers to a team-record 13-game winning streak in 2006-07 ... Appeared in 110 games during his two-year stint in the USHL, recording 27 goals, 23 assists (50 points) with five power-play goals ... Played for the US Midwest team which won a gold medal at the International Challenge Cup in Prague, Czech Republic, in the summer of 2004 ... Played two seasons of varsity hockey at Muskegon Mona Shores High School, where he earned All-State and All-Conference honors in 2004 and 2005.
