2010-11 (Junior) Was Michigan State's representitive (one per team) on the CCHA All-Academic Squad ... Academic All-Big Ten selection ... Appeared in all 38 games ... Contributed four goals and three assists (seven points) to the offensive effort ... Surpassed last year's offensive numbers (0-3-3) ... Earned CCHA Defensive Player of the Week kudos after the Maine series, where he was a +5 with a goal and an assist and four blocked shots ... Had three blocked shots in three straight games against Ohio State (11/12 & 13) and at Notre Dame (11/19) ... Just three games this season has he failed to register a blocked shot, and seven games with multiple blocked attempts ... Had a goal in a 4-1 victory over Alaska (10/23) ... Assisted on Derek Grant's first-period marker against Ohio State (11/12) ... Scored a third-period tally against Colorado College (12/29) to start a rally that would fall short against the Tigers ... Had five blocked shots in the first game against Lake Superior (1/14), then scored the game's opening goal in a 2-2 deadlock the Lakers the following night (1/15) ... Had a team-best three blocks agaisnt Michigan at the Joe (1/29) ... Registered four blocks in the Northern Michigan series (2/11-12) ... 2009-10 (Sophomore): Academic All-Big Ten Selection and named to the list of Big Ten Distinguished Scholars ... Spent the season platooning with fellow sophomore Tim Buttery, paired on the blueline with classmate Matt Crandell ... Skated in 27 games, putting three assists on the board ... Third on the team in blocked shots (35) ... Recorded a season-high four blocked shots in the season-opener against Clarkson (10/9) ... Had his first point of the year on Andrew Rowe's overtime game-winner at No. 1 Miami (10/24) ... Was a +2 in the Western Michigan series ... Was a +3 in the series sweep of Michigan (11/13-14) ... Was a +2 and blocked three shots in the 5-2 win over Ohio State (1/22) ... Had an assist on Jay Sprague's first goal of the season against Ferris State (2/20).
2008-09 (Freshman): Appeared in 34 of 38 games on the Spartan blueline ... Had a goal and four assists for five points ... Was +1 on the season ... Was +2 in 2-2 tie with Northern Michigan (10/24)...Registered first career point with an assist on Daultan Leveille's second-period goal in 3-1 victory over Western Michigan (10/31)...Assisted on Trevor Nill's game-tying goal in 2-2 stalemate at Western Michigan (11/1)...Tallied an assist in Michigan State's 4-1 win at Miami (1/16)...Credited with an assist on Joey Shean's second-period goal in 2-2 tie with Ferris State (2/6)...Scored first-career and game-winning goal in 3-2 win over Bowling Green (2/20).
Prior to MSU: Played for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs before enrolling at MSU, where he was a teammate in 2006-07 of fellow Spartan Joey Shean ... Appeared in 54 games in 2007-08, with a 7-19-26 scoring line and 53 PIM to rank seventh in scoring ... Four PPG and three game-winners ... Helped Ice Dogs to division finals ... Joined Fairbanks midseason in 2006-07, and had 3-14-17 in 26 games ... Began that season in St. Louis (NAHL), where he had 1-8-9 in 26 games for the Bandits ... Selected to the Top Prospects South Division team in 2007-08 ... Attended Oak Park River Forest high school (2002-06), where he was consistently an honor roll student and played baseball.

Says his parents are his biggest hockey influences - "they sacrificed a lot to let me play hockey" ...
