Michigan State skates to a 4-2 win over Lake Superior State on Jan. 20.

2012-13 (Junior): Made 14 starts and posted a .904 save percentage and a 3.06 GAA ... Made 37 stops to help MSU blank Alaska (2/22), 1-0, and then turned away a season-high 39 shots the next night in a loss to earn CCHA Goaltender of the Week honors (2/25) ... Made 34 stops to help MSU defeat Alaska, 2-1, in game one of the CCHA first round series (3/8) ... Stopped 22 shots to help MSU defeat Niagara (10/19) for his first win of the season ... Turned away 27 shots in a 5-3 win over Penn State (1/25).

2011-12 (Sophomore): Concluded the regular season with a save percentage of .927 and a GAA of 2.32 ... Tallied 13 wins on the season (13-8-1) ... Opened the year with a 3-2 overtime victory against Air Force in the Ice Breaker Tournament, making 26 stops ... Made 29 saves in a tough 5-4 loss at Lake Superior (10/14) ... Saved 21 shots against Robert Morris in a 5-2 win (10/28) ... Honored as the CCHA Goaltender of the Week on Nov. 14 for stopping 66 of 70 shots in MSU's sweep of Western Michigan. Made 38 saves against the Broncos in a 3-2 game one win (11/11), then made 28 saves in the Spartans' 4-2 victory on Saturday (11/12) ... Stopped 53 of 57 shots in a series split on the road at Northern Michigan (11/18-11/19). Recorded 53 saves on 57 shots against the Wildcats ... Challenged to make just 20 saves in MSU's 5-1 win over Bowling Green, the fewest he made in a game this season (12/3) ... Made 28 saves in a tough 4-3 loss at Yost against Michigan, a game in whoch the Spartans twice rallied from two-goal deficits ... Recorded 40 saves in MSU's 4-0 loss to Miami at home (1/7) ... Made a career-high 45 saves against Lake Superior State in MSU's 4-2 victory (1/21) ... Saved 74 of 79 shots in MSU's road sweep of Ohio State (2/3-4) making 41 saves in the 6-3 win and another 33 in a tight 3-2 victory the next evening ... Earned the start against Michigan in February at Munn, making 28 saves in MSU's 3-2 victory over the Wolverines (2/10), then had 32 saves in a heartbreaking overtime loss to UM in the annual game against the Wolverines at Joe Louis Arena (2/11) ... Picked up a 3-2 overtime victory against Alaska in game one of the series, registering 25 saves (2/17) ... Made 30 saves in a 2-0 loss to the Irish (2/24) a night before he had 27 saves in MSU's 4-2 victory at Notre Dame in the regular-season finale (2/25) ... Made 21 saves in 40 minutes at Miami in game one of the CCHA quarterfinal series before making way for Drew Palmisano in the third period.

Summer 2011: Selected to participate in the US World Juniors Evaluation Camp, but had to bow out early due to injury.

2010-11 (Freshman): Named the team's Outstanding Rookie at the annual team banquet at the end of the season ... Recorded his first collegiate start at Notre Dame (11/20)... Allowed three goals while stopping 19 shots including a penalty shot against the Fighting Irish in a tough 4-2 loss (11/20)... Stopped 12 out of 13 shots in his first collegiate action, against Notre Dame (11/19) ... Came into the Great Lakes Invitational semifinal game in relief, playing 28 minutes, making eight saves ... Got his first career collegiate victory against Michigan Tech, stopping 22 shots in a 5-3 victory ... Earned back-to-back wins for the first time with a dramatic 4-3 overtime victory over Michigan in his first home start, a career-best 37-save performance ... Earned CCHA Goaltender of the Week honors for his first career shutout with 27 saves at Lake Superior (1/14), and made 34 in a 2-2 deadlock the next night ... Made 34 saves and stopped a Kevin Lynch penalty-shot attempt in a 2-1 victory over Michigan at Joe Louis Arena (1/29) ... Had a 32-save shutout at Ohio State (2/4), preserving a 1-0 lead until the final 62 seconds, when MSU came up with an empty-netter to win 2-0 ... Made 35 saves and allowed three goals in a tough 4-2 loss against the Buckeyes (2/5) ... Stopped 22 shots in a 4-2 loss to Northern Michigan (2/11) to lose back-to-back starts for the first time in his career ... Made 28 saves in a 4-1 loss at Alaska in a third straight loss ... Made 16 saves in a 2-1 victory over Bowling Green (2/25) ... Made 30 saves in a double-overtime loss to Alaska in the CCHA First Round game two (3/5).

Prior to MSU: Had his 2009-10 season shortened by injury, and was also the subject of a mid-season USHL trade from Sioux City to the Waterloo Blackhawks. In his 10 games in Waterloo, he posted a 5-5-0 record and 3.41 GAA for the Blackhawks, who finished fourth in the East Division ... Played in 2008-09 for the US National Team Development Program U-17 team in Ann Arbor, playing in 17 games with a 2.10 GAA and .916 save percentage ... Played the 2007-08 season with Detroit Honeybaked, and the season prior to that with Victory Honda.

Personal: Born April 30, 1992 in Jackson, Mich. ... Son of Rosemary and David Yanakeff ... Has an older sister, Caitlin, who attends Eastern Michigan ... A graduate of Addison High School ...
