Hockey's Dolyny Named to CCHA All-Rookie Team

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Freshman right wing Rustyn Dolyny (Fort Frances, Ont.) was one of two unanimous selections to the Bauer/CCHA All-Rookie Team, the league announced today.

Dolyny led all rookies in scoring and was seventh among all players in CCHA league games this season with 17 goals and 17 assists (34 points). He enters the CCHA playoffs with 18 goals and 21 assists overall (39 points), good for third on the Spartan team in scoring.

Dolyny also has 10 power-play goals on the season entering the CCHA playoffs, which begin Friday. Michigan State hosts Ferris State for the best-of-three series at Munn Ice Arena at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and, if necessary, Sunday.

The Spartans won the regular-season CCHA championship with a 21-5-4 league record and was ranked No. 1 in the nation last week with a 29-5-5 overall record.

The CCHA Rookie of the Year Award will be announced at the CCHA Awards Banquet on Thursday, March 19.
