Harlton Named to CCHA All-Academic Team

EAST LANSING, Mich. - For the second consecutive year, senior defenseman Tyler Harlton (Pense, Sask.) has been named one of the six members of the CCHA All-Academic Team.

Harlton, who also earned honorable mention on the team as a sophomore, carries a 3.75 grade-point average in MSU's James Madison College majoring in political theory and constitutional democracy, with a minor in business. Also MSU's leader on the ice, Harlton is a three-year team captain and an All-America candidate after being named the CCHA Best Defensive Defenseman last season.

Sophomore center Shawn Horcoff (Castlegar, B.C.) and senior right wing Kevin O'Keefe (Barrington, Ill.) earned honorable mention on the CCHA All-Academic Team. Horcoff has a 3.23 GPA and plans to major in marketing. O'Keefe, who majors in interdisciplinary studies of social sciences, has a 3.16 GPA.

Senior left wing Jon Gaskins (Pekin, Ill.) earned special mention on the CCHA All-Academic Team. Gaskins has a 3.11 GPA in kinesiology.

CCHA All-Academic candidates must have a 3.0 GPA and be on course to earn a varsity letter. The 11 faculty representatives from the member schools vote on the All-Academic Team.
